Terms & conditions
The rules of the relationship, written as plainly as a contract allows. Nothing here is designed to catch you out.
1. The agreement
These terms form a binding agreement between you (or the organisation you represent) and NordicCast AS, organisation number NO 924 118 730 MVA, registered at Storgata 12, 0155 Oslo, Norway ("NordicCast", "we", "us").
By creating an account, using the service, or clicking a button that says you accept, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have the authority to bind it.
If you do not agree, do not use the service. That is a genuine option and we will not think less of you for it.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if that is higher.
- The information you give us at sign-up must be accurate and kept up to date, particularly your billing e-mail.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including actions by team members you invite.
- Keep your credentials secret. Tell us immediately at admin@nordiccast.com if you suspect unauthorised access, and we will help you lock things down.
- One human per login. Sharing a single set of credentials across a team defeats our audit logs and is not permitted — team seats exist for exactly this.
3. Plans & trials
Current plans, prices and included limits are published at nordiccast.com/pricing and form part of these terms.
- Packs are sold by number of simultaneous screens (one to five) and by term (1, 3, 6 or 12 months), at the prices published on the pricing page.
- A 24-hour free trial is available before you buy. We do not take payment details to start it and nothing is charged automatically when it ends. Once you have paid, our 14-day money-back guarantee applies.
- Bandwidth and downloads are unmetered on every pack. There is no overage pricing and no separate sport package.
- Fair use: a subscription is for one household. Streaming beyond the screen count you paid for, sharing credentials outside your household, or reselling access is not covered, and we will contact you before taking any action unless the abuse is flagrant.
4. Billing & refunds
- Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or annually, in EUR unless another currency is agreed. Prices exclude VAT, which is added where applicable.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing page, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal.
- We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on a first paid subscription. Write to us and we refund it without an interrogation.
- Beyond that, fees for a period already started are non-refundable except where required by law or where we have materially failed to deliver the service.
- If a payment fails we retry over 14 days and e-mail you. After that the account moves to read-only rather than being deleted, so nothing is lost while you sort it out.
- We may change prices with 60 days' notice. Existing subscriptions keep their price until the next renewal after the notice period.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use NordicCast to publish, store or transmit content that:
- infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights — including music you do not hold a licence for;
- is unlawful in Norway or the EU, including child sexual abuse material, credible threats, or content that incites violence or hatred against a protected group;
- is deliberately deceptive, such as impersonating a person or organisation, or fabricated content presented as a real recording;
- distributes malware, or facilitates unauthorised access to any system;
- constitutes unsolicited bulk messaging.
You also agree not to:
- reverse engineer, resell or white-label the platform without a written agreement;
- circumvent rate limits, inflate download counts, or otherwise manipulate analytics — including through bots or click farms;
- probe, scan or load-test our infrastructure without written permission. We welcome genuine security research: write to admin@nordiccast.com first and we will scope it with you.
Where we can, we contact you before acting on a suspected breach. Where the content is manifestly illegal or is causing active harm, we may remove it first and explain afterwards.
6. Your account and how you may watch
Your subscription is for your household. You may use it on the number of screens your pack allows, on any device you own, anywhere your subscription is valid. Sharing your credentials outside your household, or reselling access, is not permitted and is the one thing that will get an account suspended without notice.
You own your account data. Your profiles, favourites, watch history and parental control settings belong to you. You can export them or delete them at any time, and closing your account removes them subject only to the backup retention periods in the privacy policy.
The programming is not yours to redistribute. Everything we deliver is licensed to us for personal, non-commercial viewing. You may not record it for redistribution, restream it, circumvent the encryption or geographic controls attached to it, or show it in a commercial venue without a separate public-performance licence.
We will not sell your watch history, and we will not use it to train machine learning models for anyone else.
7. Our intellectual property
The NordicCast platform, software, design, documentation and brand are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the service for its intended purpose while your account is in good standing. No other rights are granted, expressly or by implication.
Feedback is a gift: if you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without obligation or payment. You keep the right to use those ideas yourself.
8. Availability & support
- We target 99.9% monthly availability on Creator, 99.95% on Studio and a contractual 99.99% on Enterprise, measured on audio delivery.
- Enterprise SLAs carry service credits, set out in the individual contract.
- Planned maintenance is announced at least 48 hours in advance on the status page and, where it may affect delivery, by e-mail. We schedule it for low-traffic windows.
- Availability excludes downtime caused by your own connection or equipment, a broadcaster's own outage, or events outside our reasonable control.
- Support runs every day of the year in five languages; monitoring and on-call cover for delivery incidents run 24/7.
9. Third-party services
What we can carry depends on rights holders and broadcasters we do not control. Licences are granted for defined territories and defined periods, and they can change or end on terms we do not set. We will tell you before a channel or a title leaves the service wherever we are given enough notice to do so, but we cannot guarantee that any particular channel, fixture or title will remain available for the whole of your term. The service also depends on device manufacturers and app stores whose platform decisions are theirs alone.
10. Privacy & data
Our handling of personal data is described in the privacy policy. Where you take the service for a business and we process personal data on your behalf, we do so as your processor under a data processing agreement that includes the Standard Contractual Clauses. Request a copy from admin@nordiccast.com.
11. Suspension & termination
- You may cancel at any time, for any reason, from the billing page.
- We may suspend or terminate an account for a material breach of these terms, for non-payment after the retry period, or where required by law.
- Except for manifestly illegal content or active abuse, we give 14 days' notice and a chance to fix the problem before terminating.
- If you cancel, you keep watching until the end of the term you have already paid for. Your profiles, favourites and resume points are then held for twelve months in case you come back, and can be exported or deleted at any point before that.
- Sections 6, 7, 12, 13, 14 and 16 survive termination.
12. Warranties & disclaimers
We provide the service with reasonable skill and care, and we genuinely try to make it excellent. Beyond that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without further warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or entirely error-free, that every channel or title will remain available for the whole of your term, or that a given stream will reach a particular resolution on a connection we do not control.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under Norwegian or EU law.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost goodwill or lost data, however caused.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) EUR 100.
These limits do not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or to any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against third-party claims arising from content you publish through the service or from your breach of these terms, including reasonable legal costs. We will tell you promptly about any such claim, let you control the defence, and cooperate at your expense.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we give at least 30 days' notice by e-mail and on the site. Continuing to use the service after the notice period means you accept the new version; if you do not, you may cancel and we will refund the unused portion of a prepaid term.
16. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict of law rules. The courts of Oslo have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may also bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence, as EU law provides.
Before litigating, both parties agree to spend 30 days genuinely trying to resolve the dispute by talking to each other. In our experience this works more often than it does not.
If any provision is held unenforceable, it is severed and the rest remains in force. Failing to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
